A brief look at the Idaho Breweries Activity in April thru July 6th of 2022.

One of Idaho's pico breweries discontinued brewing and was sold to new owners.

Matt and Cortni Nadar

Idawild Brewing became Idaho's 117th brewery when they opened at the former Barbarian Garden City location.   Matt and Cortni Nadar are the owner/operators. They purchased the original 5 BBL brew system from Barbarian.

Matt is the brewer and Cortni is the designer.  Cortni designed the floor plan of Idawild to be family friendly.  They welcome children of all ages.  Matt plans to brew unique beer that will appeal to many long time craft beer fans.

120 KANISKU BREWING

I missed this brewery in my first version of this blog.

This brewery has been brewing  for a while and has 10 beers on tap. It's very impressive for a pico brewery to have 10 beers on tap.

They are a Pico Brewery in a Home Brew Store in Post Fall.

IDAHO LOSES ONE BREWERY IN THE SECOND QUARTER 2022.

Craft Brewers of Boise

Say goodbye  to Craft Brewers of Boise.  The owner has sold this business to new owners that plan to cease  the home brew shop portion of the business and operate as a bottle shop and tap house.  Craft Brewers of Boise was a very small pico brewery that only featured their own beer occasionally.

The new owners may resume brewing in the future.

BLACK CANYON BREWING - IDAHO BREWERY #119

BLACK CANYON BREWING - IDAHO BREWERY #119

By Bob Hubler

When Black Canyon Brewing opened on July 6th, 2022, the brewery became the 119th Idaho Brewery.  Black Canyon Brewing gives Idaho 86 active breweries.  Thirty three Idaho breweries have closed over the last 30 years.  You can find Black Canyon Brewing at 110 North Washington Ave., Emmett, Idaho.

Finally, downtown Emmett, Idaho has a Brew Pub and this one is great. Serving some great beer on opening day,  Black Canyon Brewing adds an exciting element to their downtown.  Emmett citizens have a lot to be proud of with this new establishment.  All across America,  Brew Pubs have helped revitalize the downtown area of towns and cities.  I fully expect Black Canyon Brewing to do this for Emmett, Idaho.

Many Thanks to Dave and Amanda for making this happen.

When Dave and Amanda decided to open their own brewery in Emmett,  they knew that they need professional help.  After all, stepping up from a small homebrew system to a seven BBL commercial system presents many challenges.  They hired Marc C. Martin, owner/consultant from Northwest Brewery Advisors.  Marc guided Dave through thru the brewing processes on the BCB seven BBL system and assisted in developing the first BCB beer recipes.

I got to visit with Marc at the BCB Brewery opening.  Marc is an interesting guy.  He is a BJCP beer judge and has judged at the GABF.  He has traveled all over the United States helping new breweries start up.  He is consulting with several new breweries from Texas and Florida next. He is one of the most knowledgeable craft beer experts that I have ever met.
