THIRD QUARTER 2023 IDAHO BREWERIES UPDATE

No Idaho breweries opened in the third quarter of 2023.  As of September 30, 2023, Idaho currently had 96 active breweries.  Idaho could have 100 active breweries in 2023, if the current planned new breweries all open.

TWO BREWERIES ARE NOW OPEN IN SALMON

122 BERTRUM'S SALMON VALLEY BREWERY

Salmon Idaho's oldest brewery has reopened in August 2022 with new owners, David and Melissa Craig.  We loved this brewery.  Very busy on a Saturday night and the owners still took the time to visit with us.  We tried 13 of their beers and really enjoyed all of them.  They feel fortunate to get Jake Talbot, as their head brewer.  Jake was the head brewer at the RAM in Boise for many years where he refined his brewing skills.

HIGHLANDER BEER IN SALMON

Highlander Beer is a brewery in Missoula, Montana that has opened an Idaho location in Salmon.  They  are located at 605 Main Street and they currently are  Pub featuring pizza and other pub food.   Highlander is located across the street from Bertrum's. They plan to start brewing in November 2023. Currently, their beer is shipped in from their Missoula location .

IDAHO BREWERIES THAT PLAN TO OPEN IN 2023

There are FIVE more Idaho breweries that plan to open their doors in 2023 counting Highlander in Salmon. 

BERT'S BREWING

Bert's Brewing plans to open in November 2023 at 3577 North Brown Street, Garden City, ID 83714. Rob Harrelson ,the owner/brewer, is the former head brewer at Milners Gate.  Bert's has started brewing for the opening in mid November.

Chris McGinnis's Gem State Brewing plans to open by late November. This brewery will be Eagle's first brewery.

Hardware Brewing is currently not brewing.

New Owners plan to brew their own beer starting in 2023 or 2024.  

Layne Harris is the new owner and he is still looking for a head brewer.

103 LOOSE SCREW BEER CO

Loose Screw Beer Co is planning to move their beer production from Garden City to a second Meridian Location.  This former funeral home will also have a tap room.  Their current McMillan location continue operations giving Loose Screw two Meridian locations.

VOODOO BREWING

Voodoo Brewing recently opened with 16 taps pouring their own beer.  Their beer is brewed in Pennsylvania and shipped to  Idaho.  The Idaho location is a tap house and not a brewery.
