BEAR ISLAND OPENS TAP HOUSE IN BOISE
One of the biggest events in Boise was the Bear Island Tap House opening. After 5 years of brewing beer out of their garage in Boise, Beth Bechtel and husband, Steve, opened their Tap House in a former fire station. It will be a few more months until their brewing equipment can move into the Fire House #6 space, but the tap house is open for your business.

THE NEW BREWERIES THAT OPENED IN 2018:
81 HARDWARE BREWING IN KENDRICK
Hardware Brewing was opened in March of 2018 by Doug and Christine Lohman becoming the 82nd brewery to open in Idaho in the modern brewing era. It is also Idaho's 61st active brewery and the only brewery in Kendrick.Hardware Brewing Entrance |
82 JIM DANDY BREWING IN POCATELLO
First of all, I would highly recommend visiting this brewery
if you ever visit Pocatello. The
ambiance is incredible. The crowd was
made up of old, young and children, too;
but no dogs unless they are service dogs, of course. Opened on July 4th, this place has quickly
become a favorite hang out for many of the patrons that I talked to. When we visited, they only had three of their own beers on tap,
because they can't keep up with the demand.
But they have a solution; a new fermentor is on the way which will allow
them to increase their production.

83 PRIEST LAKE BREWING IN PRIEST LAKE
Priest Lake Brewing opened at the beginning of July. Priest Lake Brewing is 5BBL brewery owned and operated by Kent Feldman. Interesting that there is also another brewing company in Priest Lake called Priest Lake Brewing Co. owned by Tim Kassa. Trademark fight coming. See Story! Kent Feldman is brewing and has the facebook page below. Apparently Tim is not brewing yet and does not a have a brewing license.Get Gas and Beer - One Stop |

I visited Hops and Bottles on opening day. This Boise's first true bottle shop that does not sell Brew supplies or food. With nearly 400 beer choices, it will be the place to go as new beers appear in Idaho. I like that you can grab a beer out of the cooler and drink it there along with the many beers on tap. Go down and visit Mark and Barley and get your favorite beer.
